There has been such a huge interest for Street Fighter IV that I just had to make another preview since the game was pushed back a couple months ago. This game looks great and I know many PS3 owners (and all you Xbox 360 and PC gamers) are excited to get this game in their hands asap. The sad thing is that it looks like we wont be seeing this game until February 2009. This game is already available as a coin-operated arcade game in arcades around Japan and limited amounts in North America. A great thing is that the home version of Street Fighter IV will have some extra characters that are not in the arcade version.
The extra characters include Sakura from Street Fighter Alpha 2, Fei-Long from Super Street Fighter 2, Dan from Street Fighter Alpha, and Gen from the original Street Fighter. Akuma was originally a hidden character in the Arcade version but will now be a regular playable character. Also Seth (seen below in the video) and Gouken (seen to the left), who were unplayable Boss characters in the arcade version, will both be playable in the home version. So it really looks like they are making a lot of characters available for us to play in this home version. From the trailer above it looks like the game is in Japanese but don’t worry the North American and European versions will have English voice acting for every character. Another thing is that for all you hardcore Street Fighter fans, there will be a Collectors Edition (contents of the Collectors Edition are still unknown).

To finish things off there will be online multiplayer support on the home version. Which is a great feature because now the player is not limited to just playing only people who come over, but now have access to a huge community of Street Fighter gamers. The producer Yoshinori Ono has announced that there will be future downloadable content which will include new characters and stages. So we can relax knowing that this game will be game will not disappoint with single and multiplayer modes, and best of all downloadable content to keep the fun coming. Also let me know in the comments what you think about the game and are you as excited as me?
Man I’ve been waiting for this game for the longest… ever since Street Fighter EX 3 (with 3d players) I wonder if the would ever make a better game with actual street fighter characters not just like 4 or 5 and greater details…. looks like my dream came true and now I’ve pre-order the collector’s edition as soon as it was available here to pre-order… unfortunately every single Street Fighter game I’ve own has been either stolen or lost… but this Time I’m gonna make sure it doesn’t happen… specially since I’m the only one (besides my neighbor) with a PS3
