Apple’s New Ads Hit Hard

Recently Microsoft created their new “I’m a PC” ad to try and fight back against all the Apple ads. The message was that Windows is not only used in the business field and that “cool” people used PC’s too. The commercials were pretty affective at getting the message across, I have to admit, being a Mac user and all. The first thing that popped in my mind when I first saw the commercials was, “Man I’m really excited to see how Apple responds to this.” And wow these new ads from Apple really throw a hard counter punch. The better one of the two is called Bean Counter, and the other one is called V Word. They both take aim at Windows Vista and they really do hit Vista hard. So go check them out HERE and let me know how you felt about the ads in the comments! And in the Poll!

  1. Having just purchased a Vista laptop, I guess I just don’t see what all the fuss is about. I love the PC, and I’m enjoying using Vista. Not a problem so far (about a month into using it). It’s great.

So, while I continue to find the Apple commercials funny, they aren’t about to turn me into an Apple user. I’ll be sticking with my Vista PC.

  2. First off thank you very much for commenting, I love hearing from others who read my posts! From the 6 years of using Mac OS X I have enjoyed it very much. Before I switched i had a great Dell laptop with Windows XP and after switching to my first Mac (iMac G5) I fell in love. Mac OS X I feel is much easier to use and with a very simple interface with great multimedia software. I first I worried about compatibility but now with macs being so popular everything that I used on Windows works on my Mac now. So yea nothing against Vista, I think it is a beautiful OS though. All my friends and family see how my experience is with Mac OS X and more and more of them are starting to make the switch, so Microsoft needs to do more than just advertise their OS.

  3. Last time I checked windows still has the majority of market share, so It looks like Apple is the one that needs to do more than just advertise.

They also need to come up with competitive pricing, even though they aim for the wealthy end of the spectrum which means they actually will never gain majority because their target group is minimal.

Windows 7 is around the corner and it is the XP of Vista…as XP improved upon ME.

Then again if we all really want an OS, we should all just go linux ftw :) .

    • What else could Apple do? they are having record sales with their
laptops, and their desktops are selling more and more everyday. They
have an operating system that arguably runs better than Vista, and PC
World has claimed that Apple computers run vista better than PCs.
Apple computers can not be cheap because they aren’t cheap. They do
not have any $400 laptops because they only sell good quality laptops.
I do not see Mac OS becoming the majority market share for awhile
though being that Windows has been around so long that its a routine
for people to just buy Windows. As Apple’s reputation builds, more
and more people will continue to make the switch to Mac OS. Now linux
is a different story, linux is only known to power users. Its hard for
linux to have a large market share due to the fact that average
consumers do not know about it.
