Shaquille O'Neal, Suns center
According to , Shaquille O’Neal, Phoenix Suns center, reported to News 13 in Orlando, FL that he plans on retiring from basketball in the near future. “My basketball career will be over in 735 days,” reported Shaq. When asked about his future career plans, he responded “being an educated man, I’ve always had things to fall back on. So one of my options is law enforcement.”
Most NBA fans will remember the rap incident with Shaq a few months ago. Controversy arose after rapping “I’m a horse. Kobe ratted me out. That’s why I’m getting divorced. He said Shaq gave a bitch a mil’. I don’t do that ’cause my name’s Shaquille.” He finished the rap with “Kobe, tell me how my ass taste,” saying it numerous times. You can check out the video here below:
Because of the “Kobe Rap Diss”, Shaq was forced to turn in his badge. Hopefully he’ll be able to find a job within the criminal justice field. Although Shaq can be a bully to players and sometimes his teammates, he’s contributed very much to the basketball world.
Good I’m so ready for him to retire.

Why are you ready for him to retire?
I’m not a fan of Shaq to be honest, but,
can you name at least 5 “true” centers in the NBA that are currently BETTER than Shaq?
Yao Ming(ok 1), Zydrunas Ilguakas (maybe), Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Tim Duncan (incidentally the last four would be BETTER as Power Forwards and are not true centers).
Who else? Greg Oden and Andrew Bogut have potential to be better (but are not ‘currently’ better)..
We might be able to name 10 players (8 actually – but over HALF of them actually being power forwards) that ‘MIGHT BE’ better than Shaq ‘currently’ is even at his advanced age and declining skillset.
That leaves 20 other centers that are not even CLOSE to Shaq’s stats from last year (or even Shaq’s worst statistical year).
which means that 2/3rds of the league can’t do what old man Shaq does.
And you can’t fade his ‘entertainment’ factor (all star game break dancing, interview jokes, etc.)..
Personally I’m a GSWarriors fan and like Andris Biedrins, but will see the void when Shaq retires.
no offense, just being honest.

Yes Shaq was great but I most definitely think he’s getting to the end of his career as a basketball player. He is not the same Shaq from the Magic and Lakers anymore.
