Man isn’t this one of the coolest covers you’ve seen!? This game really looks like its going to live up to the huge hype for it, and will probably take over the Playstation 3 Shooter genre. Too bad the game isn’t set to released until February, but for now I guess you can cross your fingers and hope to get into the beta? hehe
This Box Cover Art was posted sometime today (Nov. 23, 2008) on the official Killzone website.
Socom has been a huge franchise for the Playstation that basically started online gaming for consoles. With the first couple of Socom’s a new community formed of skilled mature gamers that expect simply the best from Socom. The Socom series is best known for its gameplay, being a tacticle game, and its large community. Socom was the first to take advantage of the pressure sensitive buttons on the PS2 controllers introducing a whole new feature to shooters. It used this great new technology to create a very new leaning system where you could actually control how much your Navy Seal leaned to peer or shoot around corners. But proabably the biggest feature Socom was known for was its voice recognition system that was used in single player to command your team through levels. The Socom franchise was started by Zipper Interactive and has been theirs, until now. A fairly new developer, Slant 6, has taken over the Socom series but they have made one big mistake…
There has been such a huge interest for Street Fighter IV that I just had to make another preview since the game was pushed back a couple months ago. This game looks great and I know many PS3 owners (and all you Xbox 360 and PC gamers) are excited to get this game in their hands asap. The sad thing is that it looks like we wont be seeing this game until February 2009. This game is already available as a coin-operated arcade game in arcades around Japan and limited amounts in North America. A great thing is that the home version of Street Fighter IV will have some extra characters that are not in the arcade version.
